In this article, we will consider how to use your public domain
content and put it on a website.
If you already have a website, find related public domain
content to simply copy and paste to your site and create dozens
of brand new pages!
If your site is about dogs, get content about dogs. Dog tips,
temperament, training, toys, etc. And put it on different pages
on your site.
If you don’t have a website, find content that you would like to
build a website out of and get going. Let’s explore this further
today.
What’s your website going to be about? Public speaking?
Gardening? Children? Well, what’s the content of your public
domain file? Create a website on the theme you choose. It can be
anything. Your own niche. Perhaps something you enjoy like
cooking. Or even something you know nothing about like
astronomy! That’s the beauty of public domain. All the content
you need is already there for you to simply copy and paste. That
gives your website value. More people would be interested to
visit your site.
Where to start? It’s a good idea to get your own domain name.
One online tools I like to use to find good domain names is
http://www.domainname-search.com. Enter a keyword, like
‘gardening’ and you’re presented with plenty of possibilities to
choose from. You can register a domain for less than $7 a year.
You can also use an existing domain you own and create a
sub-directory of the subject. If your domain is something
generic like yourname.com, create a directory like
yourname.com/gardening to setup your gardening site.
Since you probably have plenty of content to use, you will
probably want to break up the content and put them on several
pages according to appropriate headings instead of dumping the
whole bulk of text on one page. This is where a good
understanding of the content is handy.
For example, if your site is about “Learning Tennis In 10 Days”,
it would not be a bad idea to divide the site to ten pages - day
one to day ten. This would present the content to your visitor
in an attractive and uncomplicated way. It’s always a good idea
to keep things simple and intuitive. Your visitor will know the
lessons starts on Day 1 without you having to explain or write
out an FAQ guide. And each day can have a subtitle to explain
what the lesson is about. For instance: “Day One - Choosing A
Racket.”
All depends on how you package the content for your visitors. If
things are too complicated that a visitor can’t navigate your
site, he’d much rather look for another site.
Besides cutting and pasting text, there are other things you can
do to ‘enhance’ your site and make it attractive to visitors. A
few subtle graphics is important. You can download a
FreeWebTemplate and edit it with DreamWeaver or FrontPage. Then
upload it to your webhost server.
Also if your public domain file has 360 pages, you don’t have to
use all the content on your site. You can even focus your
website on a specific niche. If you have content on dozens of
different species of dogs, you don’t have to create a website on
every dog in the book. How about focussing on just the terrier?
Did you know that ‘terrier’ alone is searched for hundreds of
thousands of times a month? That’s huge! That’s not all. You can
even drill down further and focus your website on a particular
type of terrier like the ’silky terrier’. Overture shows
approximately 12,000 searches a month for ’silky terrier’ alone.
That’s a big enough market to warrant a dedicated website.
You might have heard of automated software tools that produce a
complete website of hundreds of pages from public domain content
you input. I do not recommend it for 2 reasons. One, your
website will be exactly the same as a hundred other people who
use the software. And two, with so many similiar sites indexed
by the search engines, this would increase the chances of your
site being banned for what the search engines might consider
spamming.
One of the most most crucial element of the website in my
opinion is the TITLE. The title will be the first thing your
visitors see and can decide whether he/she stays to explore your
site further or goes away. That’s why you need to entice them
with a solid compelling title. The book on dogs may be “All
About Dogs” and showcase 12 different species. But if your niche
is “terriers”, then “All About Dogs” may not be the most
appropriate. You’d have to create a new title of your own.
To make money with your website, you need to have or find
related products you can sell on your site. Digital products
like ebooks are excellent examples because there is no stock or
shipping to worry about. Everything is handled digitally. You
can find hundreds of products to choose from at Clickbank.com.
By inserting an affiliate link, you can earn handsome
commissions on sales. If your site is on dogs, find an ebook on
‘dog training’ for instance, and put the link on your site. A
visitor who happens to enter your site, reads the interesting
content you have and thinks to himself, this guy knows what he’s
talking about. I’ll check out his ebook. And you make your first
SALE!
Another way you can earn money is by placing ads on your site.
Sign up with Google Adsense. Copy a piece of code and Google
puts an ad on your site that’s related to your content. A health
site will have ads on health. An insurance site will have ads on
insurances. If a visitor clicks on one of these ads, you earn
money, anywhere from a few cents to a few dollars per click.
Some clicks can make you up to $10 or more! You can create a
content-rich website and have Google display relevant ads on
your site.
Creating a website is not the end of the story. It is, in fact,
the easy part. Optimizing your site for the search engines is
the tough part. Having lots of good quality content will improve
your rankings. Your site needs to get good rankings so that if
someone searches for information pertaining to your niche, your
site should ideally be in the top 10 or 20. Not on postion 543,
where no one will find you. Search engine optimizers (SEO)
charge hundreds or thousands of dollars but let me see if I can
save you some money….
Here are some very good free tips and techniques you can
implement yourself to give your website a boost in the search
rankings. Visit http://www.GoogleWebsite.com
In part 3 of this series, I’ll show you how you can create your
very own ebook too for free.
As you may already be aware, printing is turning digital. Not
to be outdone, photography went digital also. It is easy to
understand why. With digital cameras, they become the expert
that they want to become in taking photos, with the help of the
digital scanning and Photoshop, of course. They can now
experiment with their photos, enhancing them; taking off
unwanted factors, imperfect details and adding different setting
into them. The possibility of what you can achieve with digital
photography is endless. It will depend on how imaginative and
creative you are. Not to forget, the tools that you will use.
For those who do not have these advancements yet, do not think
that you are so outclassed by the others and still living in
another century. There are ways to make your digital photos
better even if they are not taken from a digital camera. You can
have your photo scanned and make your magic there. You can light
up dark photos while scanning. If you think that your photo is
too dark and you are not to happy about it, try lightening them
up. Adjusting the settings should do the trick. You can brighten
them until you are contented. Try not to destroy the image by
brightening it. Consider the condition of the photo and do not
overdo your lights.
Adding more colors will make them lively and realistic. Some
cameras do not offer the color quality you want in your photos.
Adding them through scanning is an option you may want to
consider to add more colors to your colored pictures. There are
tools and software that give choices of more colors and color
styles to choose from. You just have to find the perfect ones
for your photos.
You can also remove unwanted backgrounds in your photos. Have
you ever seen photos that could have looked great if not for
something in the background that tints the perfection? You may
have blamed yourself for not having been aware of that fact and
want to turn back time and repeat your shot. Or may want to try
taking that same picture again without the background. This is a
waste of time and resources. You can just remove them and add
some good backgrounds to fit your picture. The process may be
delicate but with dedication, you can do this.
People can now put their pictures on emails and websites to
share with others. Solves the problem of letting your faraway
friends see your photo, without having to mail it to them in
letters. If you think of mailing as the alternative, you would
be more than happy to pay for the scanning and have them saved
in your files instead.

Understanding Image Tags
This tutorial will help you learn different commands that will allow you to manipulate your images to your liking. The code given is written in HTML (HyperText Markup Language) similar to the code you copy and paste from image hosting sites, to view your images at a desired location. To best understand this tutorial you must understand the basic html structure.
Insert the actual content codes here
To properly use code in examples copy and paste content the examples inside < >
Basics of the Image tag
The image tag allows you to display images in many formats on a webpage. The tag used for displaying an image in html code is img. With all html there are certain attributes that can be associated with the image tag to allow it to perform different functions. These include:
Src Attribute - REQUIRED
The source (src) attribute is the location or URL where the image resides on the internet. This attribute must always be used or your image will not be shown as the browser will not know where to retrieve it from.
Example: img src=”http://www.iuploadhere.com/image.jpg”
Alt Attribute - OPTIONAL
The alternate text (alt) attribute is used to displayed text in place of an image that cannot be found or when image downloading is turned off by the user. This feature is to help the user understand what he/she should be viewing if the image doesn’t display.
Example: img src=”http://www.iuploadhere.com/image.jpg” alt=”My Image”
Align Attribute - OPTIONAL
The align image command allows you to position the image in correspondence with the surrounding text. Commands used include top, bottom, middle, left, and right.
Example: img src=”http://www.iuploadhere.com/image.jpg” alt=”My Image” align=”Top”
Width and Height Attributes - OPTIONAL
These commands allow you to change the size of the image on the website. The attributes used are width=”#” and height=”#” where the # represents a number (in pixels) that you wish to use. Remember when using this command that you are not actually modifying the image but only temporarily changing the size which can cause distorted images.
Example: img src=”http://www.iuploadhere.com/image.jpg” alt=”My Image” align=”top” width=”50″ height=”40″
Background Image Attribute
The background image command allows you to place your image in the background of your website as a wallpaper. As you can see in the example below, this attribute must be placed within the tag at the beginning of your HTML document. If your image is smaller then the area of the page it will tile itself.
Example: body background=”http://www.iuploadhere.com/background.jpg”
Turning an image into a Link
This command allows you to turn your image into a link that people can click to direct them to another webpage on the internet. When the user scrolls over the image the mouse cursor will change from the arrow to a hand with it’s index finger pointing. This command requires you to surround your image tag with the html tags shown below in bolded text.
Example:
a href=”http://www.iuploadhere.com”>img src=”http://www.iuploadhere.com/image.jpg” alt=”My Image”>

As with a real market, trading on eBay is not without its
hassles and snags.
First of all, it should be duly noted that eBay is an online
market/transaction facilitator. It merely becomes a means for
the buyer and the seller to meet.
Because of its online nature, eBay’s auction listing provides
the buyers with a wide selection of goods. The buyers are also
enabled to review the buyer through its feedback rating. This
helps the buyer decide whether to pursue the trade or not.
The sellers on the other hand, benefit from a wider audience due
to the popularity of eBay because eBay enables them to post
easily, quickly, and extensively.
When eBay connects buyer and seller, the transactions truly
begin…as well as the headaches.
Even with the automated nature of most of today’s transactions,
eBay is still built on the basic foundation of trading: trust.
A good deal of trust is involved in eBay trading. The buyer has
to trust that the seller is listing a legitimate item, and that
he or she will deliver that item when paid. The seller has to
trust the buyer to pay fully and without any catches.
Here are some of the problems one may encounter while buying on
eBay.
Seller does not deliver product This is the buyer’s biggest
fear. However, it is also one of the most common snags buyers
encounter. Usually, when closing a deal, the seller will email
purchase instructions to the buyer. This will most usually
include instructions for payment. The seller will then promise
to have the item delivered upon receipt of payment.
If the buyer, after fulfilling his or her part, does not receive
the item within the agreed upon date, he or she should
immediately try contacting the seller. If this proves to be
fruitless, he or she should file a complaint with eBay for
assistance regarding the matter.
Seller delivers a different/defective product Sometimes the
trading is smooth. Everything goes according to schedule.
However, upon receipt of the item, the buyer finds out that the
item is significantly different from its description on eBay.
What should the buyer do about this?
Good communication between the buyer and seller usually brings
about a speedy and satisfying end to any trading dispute. This
should always be step one for disputes.
Seller cannot be contacted to close deal or for questioning Most
disputes come about due to miscommunication between seller and
buyer.
But if the seller can not be contacted, that presents a bigger
problem for the buyer - especially if that person has already
fulfilled payment of the item.
eBay may help in this regard by furnishing you with further
information on the seller.
In all kinds of businesses, credibility is important. This is
one of the primary principles that are being established by the
companies. It must be prioritized above all other things because
if not, they will surely loose their customers. In every
country, there is always a provision that sets ethical standards
when it deals about business.
Even on the SEO or the search engine optimization companies,
they are also very concerned with the maintenance of their
integrity. It is easier to attract customers if the company is
able to sustain a good name. It will also ensure a good profit,
because the more subscribers who will patronize the business the
greater the gain that they will have.
The kind of employees that you have will reflect the totality of
the company’s management. This will reveal the manner on how you
discipline your staff. It will also transpire to the people that
will make them decide whether they will go for subscription in
your company or not.
In SEO, there are various ways to maintain its credibility.
* Choose a trustworthy staff. Usually, chaos and controversies
within the company starts when misunderstanding exists. Make
sure that when you accept applicants as your future employees
you are guaranteed that they have a good morale. Even though the
task of the employees in SEO will be merely focusing on computer
works but still it is very important since you will be making
transactions within and outside your offices.
* Small things should not be made complicated. If there are
little problems that arise in running the business, better
discuss it immediately before it grows into a bigger problem.
* Problems arising in the company must be tackled within the
office only. Avoid things that will likely worsen the situation,
commonly this is the problem of the companies. Matters that deal
on internal concerns must not reach the other offices. There are
times that your opponent company may use the controversy against
you that will lead to the obliteration of your name.
* Always appear cheerful towards your customers. In spite of the
internal problems that you are probably encountering do not take
it as burden up to the point that you will disregard the welfare
of your subscribers already. You will lose a lot of them if you
continue doing this, so always remain positive to them at all
times.
Some of the noted unethical practices that are very known to
search engine optimization are cloaking and issue, doorway pages
or hidden links and sometimes hidden texts.
These malpractices are treated to be forbidden by various search
engines. Beware about this because once they discover these
strategies used in your website, you will surely be banned.
Sadly, once your site is ban you will not only loose your
ranking but as well as the money that you have invested on it.
Everything will turn into nothing so it is better to be honest
at all times. Do not grab for profit in an immoral way because
you will just suffer the consequence in the end.
So, ethical standards will be comprised of all the factors
surrounding the entire management of the company. It is not a
matter of questioning your manager’s individual personality or
even the staff but on their morale inside their work.
