Some utility skins are made from different types of wood including oak, teak, maple, birth, and mahogany. Wood used to make sinks usually has the natural resin extracted from it and replaced with artificial resins. The wood is then resealed using layers of epoxy. Wood sinks are very uncommon within dirty work areas. Wood sinks provide a stylish beautiful look however they are extremely expensive. The sink will require a lot of maintenance. For instance, it should be wiped and cleaned after every use. Wood sinks usually provide a soft and warm appearance. You will need to wax the sink periodically to ensure durability.
The cheapest types of utility sinks are produced using polypropylene. Polypropylene is a type of plastic often used in the creation of food containers, car bumpers, and appliances and of course sinks. Sometimes the entire sink is not created using plastic. Sometimes only the top will be plastic and the bottoms will be supported using stainless steel or some other type of strong materials. Plastic sinks usually don’t provide a very good sight but they tend to be very durable and have a long life span. Plastic sinks are easy to maintain. Plastic sinks are pretty easy to keep clean.
Learn about sinks and pluming, this might save your house one day….
In the past, there has been much discussion and discrediting of
“do-it-yourself” will kits, when in fact, the sections and
clauses they contain, are pretty much the same templates that a
lawyer uses in their office. So a straightforward will can be
done by an individual, and should have no problem being
acknowledged as legal, if the proper procedures are followed.
First, a person must sit down and write out a list of their real
and jointly owned property. Something co-owned with a spouse
automatically goes to them upon your death, however a business
co-ownership usually reverts to the surviving partner.
Once you have identified all properties, such as real estate,
artwork, jewelry, investments, bank accounts, etc; you can then
make out a list of specific bequests. After you have accounted
for mementoes and things you wish to pass to relatives and
friends, you make your major bequests, to children, siblings,
parents and spouses.
Most states have laws regarding how much of an estate a spouse
is entitled to, usually in the one-third to one-half range. If
you leave a spouse less than that, they may contest the will, to
the loss of the other beneficiaries, since expenses will come
out of the estate. When a person dies without a will, state laws
divide the estate between the spouse and children at a set
percentage. And while it is possible to disinherit a child
entirely, it is a tricky business that requires legal advice. In
the end, it is usually simpler to leave the child a nominal
bequest to avoid litigation.
After directing individual bequests, and those to your immediate
family, you should name a beneficiary for the residual of your
estate, which would include all things not listed in the will
for distribution, and any property or monies acquired after the
will was written. The residual beneficiary is usually the main
one as well, such as a spouse, parent or child.
I’m sick of these Amateurs! I hope *insert pro player’s name
here* wipes the floor with him!
That seems to be a common refrain in poker forums recently, in
light of all the success the amateurs are enjoying. We ran a
poll on my web site asking members to predict “Who will win WSOP
2004?” I think “a professional” beat “an amateur” by at least a
2:1 margin, and about 90% gave Chris Moneymaker hardly a
snowball’s chance at even making the final few tables.
So why the angst? Is it because of the World Poker Tour coverage
on the Travel Channel where so many of the new players today saw
and became infatuated with names like Phil Ivey and Howard
Lederer and just can’t stand watching their “horse” lose?
Lets consider the differences between the typical amateur and
professional poker player at one of these expensive televised
tournaments. First, the amateur holds a regular job, albeit
generally well paying. Remember “the Dentist” in World Poker
Tour coverage? We probably won’t be seeing “The Plumber” or “The
Garbage Man” dropping several thousand dollars on a poker
tournament in the near future. The professional on the other
hand considers poker his full time job.
The second difference between the amateur and professional
is…is…hmm. What is the second difference? Is there another
difference?
The professional players have excellent poker skills, starting
hand selection, flop play, reading the other players, knowing
when to bluff, when to call, when to get out of the way. But
then again, so do the amateurs we see at the final table.
Of course there is “dead money” at these tournaments, but can
anyone make a legitimate argument that all because someone fixes
teeth during the day that he or she is a lesser poker player at
night?
I’ll be the first to admit that I prefer to see a “name” or two
at the final table, but I also know that it is nigh impossible
to make it to the final table of one of these things on sheer
luck.
Time to give the amateurs some credit?
I have a friend, probably the most intelligent person I’ve ever
met, who occasionally joins my group in our Las Vegas
excursions. We refer to him as “Doc” as he has a Phd. from one
of the ivy league schools. He’s tall, excruciatingly thin, and
appears to be made up of only arms and legs. If you were to meet
him in passing, his appearance and demeanor would leave you with
the impression that he’s a bit of a stiff. When my friends and I
would head for the craps tables, he would go to play blackjack.
He’s a moderately strong BJ player, and would probably be an
excellent one if he played more frequently and was more
passionate about the game.
One night, awhile back, instead of his normal routine, Doc
followed us to the craps tables. “Just want to see what you guys
get all wound up about…” Three of us settled onto a table with
Doc standing behind looking over our shoulders. In between
rolls, we explained the basics of the game, which he quickly
grasped. We couldn’t have timed our arrival any better as the
table began to shift from cold to warm about the time we placed
our first bets. Within 15 minutes, my friends and I were all up
about 20 units. “You shouldn’t be winning, you know….the odds
are stacked against you.” Doc said. We nodded and continued to
call out our wagers. He continued to watch.
The stick calls, “Five, pay the line!” The table erupts in
cheers, laughter and high fives.
Forty minutes pass. Chip racks are filling and what was once a
half full table is now packed with players standing elbow to
elbow. No one is having monster rolls, but nearly everyone is
making at least a pass or two and throwing some numbers in
between. Doc, who has a thoughtful scowl on his face, seems
almost irritated that things are going so well for us. “Doc,
come on! We’ll make some room. Squeeze in and play!” I said. He
shakes his head, “The probabilities have to start evening out
soon. This has been going on far too long. A correction is due.”
I tried to explain that he was over thinking, being too
analytical, but he would have none of it. We continued to win at
a steady pace, all the while Doc appeared to be doing math
computations in his head. I think I even heard him say something
about standard deviations and the Gaussian curve!
Finally, after a little more than an hour, I needed a rest. I
handed Doc two green cheques and said, “Play. Ride the wave.
Just quit thinking so much! If you lose, then it’s my money.
I’ll be back in 5 minutes.”
I called for color and went in search of a drink. As I walked
away from the table, I heard Doc quietly ask for the six and
eight to be placed for $6 each.
As it turned out, it was two drinks and 25 minutes before I
returned. I found that Doc had indeed been riding the wave. With
a little assistance from my two other friends, Doc had made a
tidy profit. Apparently the little old lady at table’s end,
(who, to this day my pals claim was blind) had just concluded a
looooong roll with what they were calling ‘Seeing Eye Dice.’ Doc
was no longer mulling over probabilities and table corrections,
but whether he should “come down with his place bets after two
hits or three…” Doc turned toward the shooter, and yelled “C’mon
shoota shoota, SaWING!” In the fifteen years that I’d known him,
I don’t think I’d ever seen him so animated!
Sadly, the rest of our group was due in from the airport, and it
was time to meet them back at the hotel. “Time to go gents.” I
said, pointing at my watch. The look on Doc’s face made me think
for a moment, that we might have to physically drag him from the
table. After a stop at the cashier’s booth, while Doc and I
waited for my buddies to return from the restroom, he recounted
for me, in vivid detail, every bet he made, every regression,
every win. “What a rush!” he said, “Craps REALLY gets under your
skin. It’s addictive! We’ll play later tonight, right?” And to
that I said, as another raucous cheer came from the craps table
we had vacated, “Welcome Doctor, to our humble madhouse.”

Dog Training Tips
8 dog training tips for you and your dog.
By Fayola Peters
Dog training requires simple persistence to be a successful and
delightful experience for you and your dog.
Here are 8 dog training tips to guide you along the way.
1. Dog Training Tips - Get your dog’s attention
Before you can start training your dog you first need to get its
attention. You can do this by talking to him and offering him a small treat.
2. Dog Training Tips - Use the correct dog training supplies
If you have a well behaved dog a six foot training lead and a regular
buckle collar will do. However if you dog is uncontrollable you should
use a training collar. For the right collar size measure the dogs’ neck
and add 2 inches.
3. Dog Training Tips - For safety in vehicles
Before you introduce your dog to the inside of a moving vehicle you
should teach him the ‘down!’ and ’stay!’ commands. This ensures that he
spends the ride on the floor of the vehicle.
4. Dog Training Tips - Elimination
When your dog got to go it got to go. To prevent your dog from getting
busy on the carpet you should train him to eliminate on command.
5. Dog Training Tips - Praise
Always praise your dog when he learns a new command.
6. Dog Training Tips - Reprimand
Do not hit your dog! Any time your dog is engaging in bad behavior, use
the opportunity to teach him the ’stop!’ or ‘no!’ command. Using the
’stay!’ command can also be effective in these situations.
7. Dog Training Tips - Play with your dog
This will help in building the bond between you and your dog.
8. Dog Training Tips - Do some dog training everyday
Don’t rush dog training. Teach your dog one command at a time and don’t
move on until he gets it. A little dog training everyday is all that’s
needed.
Well that’s it for my dog training tips. Enjoy training your dog and
remember that it takes simple persistence.

accessories that every man will use. Send him surfing at high
speed with a Router that ties it all together and lets your
whole network share a high speed cable or DSL Internet
connection.
Still not sure? Simple just get him a gift card for a Computer
accessories store and you can bet he won’t have any problem
spending it on computer accessories.
The nurse was persistent. She reminded me of a Scottish terrier,
which once it finds what it’s looking for, growls at it and
refuses to let go. “Trust me, it’s in your own interests. Every
man should come to see us at least once a year.”
“Okay, I’ll think about it.”
That was like a red rag to a bull. “No, don’t THINK about it.
Just do it.”
Then she hit me with a guilt trip. “You should think yourself
lucky. Many men would be glad of this opportunity! I’ll put you
down for Thursday morning at 9.15.”
There was no arguing with that . . .
So what was all the fuss about? Well, I hadn’t attended my
doctor’s surgery for over a year, so they thought it was time I
was reined in. They run a ‘Well Man’s Clinic’ these days and
they’re very proud of it.
When I got there the nurse was still shaking her head and
‘tut-tutting’ like a mother hen. Again she hit me with her
irrefutable logic. “You put your car in for a check every year,
don’t you? So what’s more important, your body or your car?”
And believe it or not, the ‘overhaul’ was really quite simple.
She asked a few questions, ticked a few boxes, did some routine
tests like checking my blood pressure, then - ouch! - took a
sample of blood from a vein in my left arm.
Not a word of sympathy! I got the distinct impression she’d had
all she could take from men who never think about their health,
but who create a fuss when they walk through the clinic door.
“This will be divided into smaller samples,’” she said
matter-of-factly, “then sent off for analysis.”
The next part really impressed me. The nurse reeled off a whole
list of things that would be tested from that one blood sample:
thyroid activity, glucose levels, PSA level (which measures
prostate activity), cholesterol level, blood count . . . and so
on.
So far, so good. A few days later I was summoned back to the
surgery for the results. I must admit, that day I was more than
a little worried and had to force myself to keep the
appointment. But I came away walking on air!
The results were normal. My blood pressure was as it should be,
there was no sign of diabetes or high cholesterol. All fears had
been groundless. I felt great.
Yet when I reached home, my heart was heavy.
You see, my own Dad died over ten years ago. His was a slow and
painful death from prostate cancer. It deeply affected us all,
but more especially his grandchildren, who adored him.
I’ll never forget the sad look on the face of the consultant as
he told my mother: “If only we’d caught this sooner… It
needn’t have come to this, you know.”
If only, if only …
If only there had been a ‘Well Man’s Clinic’ in my Dad’s day. If
only he’d had the sense to have a medical check up every so
often.
But who am I to criticise? My Dad was a typical man of his
generation: - ignore health problems and they’ll go away!
So what was my excuse? Despite my Dad’s experience, despite the
fact that I want to be here for my own family, for the children
I teach and the ones I write my books for, I had to be
practically dragged, kicking and screaming, for a routine
check-up. Apparently I’m not alone. It would appear there are
millions of men around the globe who HAVE clinics and check- ups
readily available, but who won’t go for a simple ‘physical’.
They’ll wait until problems are far advanced - and in many cases
too far advanced!
Believe me, it feels great to know that your health is fine and
that if any subsequent tests reveal a problem, it will be in the
early stages and can be treated easily and effectively.
I now feel like shouting the good news from the roof tops - but
I’ll have to make do with the internet:
Fellow Dads, get your heads out of the sand! Bite the bullet!
Gather up your courage! Use whatever metaphor or image you like,
but take yourselves down for ‘a physical’ and look after your
health.
Follow the example of our wives and partners, who show sound
common sense when it comes to health matters.
You owe it to yourself.
But more importantly, you owe it to your loved ones …
Happy Parenting!

The cost of being a parent and raising a child in todays world
is constantly increasing. The risk of your child becoming
involved in problem behaviour is also greater. Parents must work
together as a team to ensure the brightest future for their
children. But what if there is no team. No other person to rely
upon. This is what millions of single parents deal with
everyday. But it is not only the parent who sees this as a
gloomy situation. Children are quite often left thinking that
they are the reason for a separation or divorce. It is the child
who must attend father and son day at school without a dad. They
have to grow up with all the stigma attached to coming from a
“broken home”. These are just a few of the many potential
problems that a single parents household are faced with. This
article is aimed at providing single parents with some
strategies for raising a good child despite what other people
may say.
Concentrate on the positives
Although it may be impossible to see at first, there are some
positives for single parents. The main one being less fighting,
bickering and tension around the house. This will benefit your
child in the long run as it becomes a more child friendly
environment. Try to see your situation as a new found freedom
and feeling of independence.
Develop a new relationship with your child
A child must obviously be comforted at such a time, but also
made to see that you are the boss. Do not let your child think
that because there is now only one parent around, they can do
whatever they please. Children need rules and routine,
regardless of how many parents are around.
Ask for help if you need it
Suddenly single parents will probably find that their workload
doubles or triples at first. If your children are old enough, be
sure to set them some chores around the house each day to take
the pressure off yourself a little. Speak to other parents as
much as you can. You will be surprised how often they will be
happy to help out. It may just be taking your child to the
movies or to a sports game on a Saturday morning, but every
little bit helps. Above all, don’t feel as though you have to do
absolutely everything on your own.
Do not use your children for emotional support
Children need to have fun, play with their friends and enjoy
their youth. Do not become overly possessive of your child or
look to them for emotional support. This quite often leads to
the child feeling as overwhelmed as you are. Although you may
not be ready for another romantic relationship, try to talk to
other adults about your emotions.
Kids react best to routine
In order to create a stable household envirnonment with
children, their must be rules and routine. Simple things like
having dinner at the same time each night, bed time, homework
time etc… If you can provide a schedule for them, they will
feel a sense of security. Of course, the correct dosage of
attention and affection will also provide and sustain a nuturing
environment, but a combination of the two will always work best.
Don’t forget about you
For single parents with a house full of kids and only one parent
to do all the work and all the worrying, it may be easy to
forget about ones self. It is crutial to the well-being of your
children, that you stay healthy. If you feel run down, ask
another parent or relative to mind the kids for a night or two.
Try to remember the things you enjoy doing and dedicate a little
bit of your time to do these things. The way a parent feels is
quite often reflected in a child. If you are stressed out all
the time, then this may directly or indirectly affect your
child. So, try to stay calm around the kids when you can. Take a
deep breath, or wait until the kids are out of the car before
you start screaming!
Try to remember that it is all about quality not quantity. There
are many two parnet households out their that are doing a much
worse job than yourself. Just beacause a parent finds themsleves
on their own, doesn’t mean that things won’t work out. Remember,
not just anyone can run a house, raise kids and do a thousand
other things all at once. Give yourself a pat on the back once
in a while. You have a lot to be proud of. Best of luck to you!
