Online MCSE Certification
Wednesday 26 March 2008 @ 9:57 pm

An MCSE certification is one of the most valued qualifications in the IT industry. The credentials of earning the MCSE traditionally would be same as earning it through an online system, and there are several advantages of following the online path.

Through an online course, all study takes place at home or in the office, wherever is convenient. Most companies who provide online certification training have been certified by Microsoft, and they have a network of teachers and administrative personnel to help a candidate sail smoothly through the study period and the exam. There is an added advantage of cutting down on traveling time and costs, which one would generally waste in traditional classroom training. Also, the fees of such programs are considerably lower than their study center counterparts.

The pace of study for these programs is decided by the candidate. One can spend from a few minutes to a few hours a day, depending upon one’s personal schedule. Also, one can study anytime, twenty-four hours a day. The course materials, reference and sample test papers for individual subjects are available on the servers. Moreover, the entire software required for the learning process is in constant supply, and this software provides real exam-like simulations which engage the candidates in the learning process.

The duration of these courses can vary from 6 months to an entire year depending upon the company offering the course. Upon successful completion and passing of a grade of 70% or higher, these companies are authorized to grant the candidate with an MCSE certificate.

MCSE Certification provides detailed information on MCSE Certification, MCSE Certification Training, Online MCSE Certification, MCSE Certification Exam and more. MCSE Certification is affiliated with MCSE Term Papers.

How to Create Google Ad’s for all your Products
Wednesday 26 March 2008 @ 5:39 pm

Amazon.com does it, and a few other very big companies does it, creates individual Google Adwords for ALL their products. In my role as CEO for eLounge (a new and upcoming Scandinavian Internet Bookshop) I have spent the last year trying to figure out a way to do the same with our own products without having to pay an advertising company $ 10-100.000 to create and control all the adverts.

The advantage of adverts on Google is that you only pay when people clicks on your advert (we typically pays around $ 0,09 per click).
My experience from Denmark and USA says that this kind of adverts have a click rate on around 0.2%. So that for every click your advert has been exposed to about 500 people.

It took hundreds of hours to figure out how to build a system that can create individual adverts for all our titles (we have more than 2.000.000 titles), but in the end we succeeded.

To save other people a lot of time and troubles I would like to share how we managed to build the system.

First we tried out to build one ad for every product, but it turned out that Google don’t allow an account to hold more than 25 Ad groups and 100 Ad’s in each Ad group. So if we want to create adverts for all our 2 million products we would have to open and control more than 800 Google Adword accounts.

The solution, we found, was to work with adverts for many products inside each ad. Every ad is allowed to contain up to 2.000 keywords, and since we needed 7 keywords for each book, it meant that each ad could contain around 285 books (2.000 divided with 7)

You have to be aware of a few things when you build ads with several individual products inside.

First you need to fill in the following text in the headline (or something like it): {Keyword:Get the book here}
This means that whenever a person search for one of your chosen keyword, like for example “Harry Potter”, the headline on your Google advert will be: Harry Potter.
The last part of the sentence: “Get the book here”, will be shown if the keyword is longer than the allowed 25 characters.

In the Destination URL field you just fill in the main site of your homepage, for example www.elounge.com. The URL want be used since we add a deeplink (a direct link to the product on your homepage) after our keywords, which overrules the Destination URL.
Next step is to make a list with all the 2.000 keywords for 285 products (if you use 7 Keywords per product).
After each keyword you add: ** Destination url.
Your keyword list should look something like this:

101 Book Salivations ** http://www.elounge.com/productid=100201
101 Salivations by Rachel Hale ** http://www.elounge.com/productid=100201

This makes sure that you adverts always links to the product you are advertising for.

Now all that is left is to create all the Adgroups and Ad’s. Because we in eLounge needed to advertise for a very high number of products we couldn’t make this manually, so we developed a program in Iopus Internet Macros, which automatically could create the 7000 Ad’s for us.

To make the adverts more effective, we divided all the books into different categories. We made one category with all the books that are sold freight free, one category with all the books on which you save more than 50% ect.
We used the different categories to make different descriptions, instead of just having the same description on all the products.

All that is left now, is to wish you good luck with creating you own Google Adwords.

Should Smoking be Banned?
Wednesday 26 March 2008 @ 3:11 pm

Why is it that countries everywhere want to ban smoking and related advertisements and also benefit from taxing its sales, both at the same time? The same goes for alcohol and other such commodities.

Smoking and drinking are universally prevalent habits. That itself is the biggest argument against any such bans. Why then would any lawmaker try to wipe it out?

The main motive behind such moves seems to be a paternalistic one - to protect others from harming themselves. As adults our personal habits are chosen by us and we are solely responsible for them. It seems there is a tendency to consider the civil population as a group or community whose welfare one is responsible for. In fact, no one can hold another person responsible if somebody dies of smoking induced cancer, except that person himself/herself.

If the above is true, than why would anyone think of imposing such bans? If the victim is solely responsible for his/her actions, then why should such actions become a subject for regulations, unless they are considered harmful to others?

This last point has in fact been explored in case of smoking, and passive smoking is one argument made in favor of banning public smoking.

Several habits are a matter of personal freedom and these must be kept out of reach of bans and impositions.

A just point made by someone on the internet was that smokers do not continue to smoke due to lack of knowledge of its harmful effects. It at all it is, it is considered a vice. That is what motivates such bans.

Or is it that governments can’t tolerate anything more popular than themselves?!

Caring for a Living Christmas Tree
Wednesday 26 March 2008 @ 2:47 pm

The Christmas season brings with it many decisions to be made. Among them is, “What type of Christmas tree should I put up?” This year, consider a living Christmas tree. Not only will you enjoy it through the holidays, but a living tree can be planted in the garden to enhance your landscape and spark wonderful memories for years to come.

To allow your living tree to thrive in your garden, you must provide it with a small amount of special care. The following tips from the National Christmas Tree Association will help ensure your living tree’s success:

• The adaptability of the species should be considered. Many species are shipped outside of their natural area and may not be adaptable to other areas. Check with a reliable nursery or extension forester.

• Keep in mind that living trees are VERY heavy and bulky. A six foot tall balled and burlapped tree will weigh as much as 250 pounds.

• Protect the tree from the elements. The tree should be stored in an unheated, sheltered area such as a garage or porch, out of the wind and sun. Do not expose the tree to freezing temperatures at any time.

• The tree will need adequate water. The root ball or soil should be kept slightly damp but not flooded. Wrap the root ball of a balled tree in plastic or place in a tub while it is in the house.

• Living trees may be decorated, but with care. If lights are used, they must not give off any heat.

• Avoid extreme temperature changes. Do not remove the tree directly from a warm house out into freezing temperatures. Instead, move to a sheltered area first for several days.

• Plant the tree as soon as possible. If the ground is not frozen, the tree may be replanted. The spot to be dug should be mulched to prevent freezing.

• Do not remove the burlap and strapping (unless it is plastic). This keeps the root ball solid and secure. In the instance of a plastic cover, cut the cord and roll down the plastic at least half way prior to planting. Tap the tree container of a potted tree and remove prior to planting. Do not attempt to remove soil from the root system. Earth removed from the original hole should be backfilled around the root ball. Mulch heavily over the top of the planted root ball to prevent it from freezing. Water only as needed: a flooded tree may not survive.

• Provide support for the tree. Stake the tree to prevent wind tipping or damage during the first growing season.

Try a living Christmas tree. With proper care, it will keep bringing you enjoyment throughout the years.

Credit card debt consolidation program
Wednesday 26 March 2008 @ 2:08 am

Debt consolidation or debt reduction is the process of taking one loan in order to pay off many other loans. This provides the ease of paying one loan with secured or fixed interest rates. Many companies provide credit debt consolidation services and it is advisable to consolidate credit card debt because credit cards carry high interest rates than those of an unsecured loan from a bank.

Today, more and more credit cards are used because these are the safest method of payment to sellers and there is less risk of being theft. But while you shop with the help of credit card you have to make timely payment with amount due. This sometimes creates lots of stress while you are in debt because of credit shopping and the creditors are constantly calling you up one after the other.

A good way to escape of such headache is to go for a credit card debt consolidation whereby all loan debts taken by you shall be treated as a single creditor. It would then become easier to pay off one single creditor rather paying many creditors. While you need to pay many creditors you all have to keep a record of the amount to be paid and the due date whereas by taking a debt consolidation you need not worry for that. At the same time with the help of debt consolidation you can have lower interest rates in form of lower installments. You also don’t get those annoying phone calls by your creditors since you are not supposed to interact with them.

You can take these loans either with security or without security whatever you could afford. There are many website that offer online loan services or you could directly move to a local creditor as per your requirement. In any case you should always be careful that you are not cheated on any grounds and terms of debt consolidation are very clear to you. Debt could be very hectic but it could be made simpler by taking a debt consolidation loan.

Are You Addicted to Your Children?
Wednesday 26 March 2008 @ 12:40 am

Is it possible to be using our children addictively?

Anything that we use to get love, avoid pain, and fill up inner emptiness can become an addiction - even our children! If your children are your whole life - if you don’t have a strong spiritual connection with a personal source of love and guidance, as well as other relationships and interests that you are passionate about, you might be using your children to fill an empty place within you.

If you don’t have a partner or your relationship with your partner is not fulfilling to you, and you don’t have deeply connected and meaningful friendships, then you might be using your kids as your major emotional connection. If you don’t have hobbies or work that are compelling and fulfilling to you, you might be using your children to give meaning to your life. If you don’t have a daily spiritual practice that brings love and comfort to your soul, you might be using your children to fill this need.

If this is what you are doing, it is not good for your children. It is a huge burden on children to be responsible for their parent’s loneliness and sense of purpose. Children who feel this responsibility often become caretakers, giving themselves up to take care of a parent. On the other hand, a child burdened with this responsibility may rebel and distance from the parent, spending less and less time at home to avoid the burden of the parent’s emptiness.

I grew up as an only child with a mother who had nothing fulfilling in her life - other than me. Her whole focus was on me, and because I couldn’t possibly fill her up in the way she needed to be filled, she was often angry at me. I became a good little girl, a good caretaker of my mother, but the result was that I was a nervous and unhappy child, and wanted to be away from my house as much as possible.

Our children need to be a part of our life, not our whole life. We need to role-model for them what it looks like to take personal responsibility for filling ourselves up. We need to show them what it looks like to take responsibility for making ourselves happy, rather than rely on them for our happiness. Your children want to know that they are important to you, but not so important that your well-being is dependent upon them. You might want to explore the following questions to see if you may be using your children addictively:

* Do you have a solid spiritual practice that fills you with a sense of peace and gives meaning to your life?

* Are you expressing your particular talents in a way that feels meaningful and productive to you and gives you a sense of fulfillment?

* Do you have fulfilling emotional connections with other adults - a partner, other family members or friends?

If you answered “yes” to these, then you are probably not using your children addictively.

* Do you feel bored and useless when your children are not around? Is it your children that give your life meaning?

* Is your sense of worth attached to your children’s achievements? Do you tend to take it personally if one of your children has a problem?

* Are you over-involved in your children’s lives?

* Are you overly sensitive if one of our children is angry or distant? Do you find yourself trying to pacify your children rather than set appropriate limits in order to avoid their rejection?

* Did you choose to have children to share the fullness of your love or did you have children in the hopes of getting love from them?

If you answered “yes” to one or more of these, then there is a good possibility that you are using your children addictively. If this is the case, the best thing you can do for you and your children is to move yourself toward a solid spiritual practice, look for meaningful ways of expressing your talents, and develop emotional connection and support from other adults.
