When you’re studying to pass the BCMSN exam on the way to earning your CCNP certification, you’re going to add to your CCNA knowledgebase every step of the way. Nowhere is that more than configuring a trunk between two switches.
You know that IEEE 802.1Q (”dot1q”) and ISL are your two choices of trunking protocols, and you know the main differences between the two. What you might not have known is that there’s a third trunking protocol that’s running between your Cisco switches, and while it’s a transparent process to many, you had better know about it for your BCMSN and other CCNP exams!
The Cisco-proprietary Dynamic Trunking Protocol (DTP) actively attempts to negotiate a trunk link with the remote switch. This sounds great, but there is a cost in overhead - DTP frames are transmitted every 30 seconds. If you decide to configure a port as a non-negotiable trunk port, there’s no need for the port to send DTP frames.
DTP can be turned off at the interface level with the switchport nonegotiate command, but as you see below, you cannot turn DTP off until the port is no longer in dynamic desirable trunking mode. (Dynamic desirable is the default mode for most Cisco switch ports.)
SW2(config)#int fast 0/8
SW2(config-if)#switchport nonegotiate
Command rejected: Conflict between ‘nonegotiate’ and ‘dynamic’ status.
SW2(config-if)#switchport mode ?
access Set trunking mode to ACCESS unconditionally
dynamic Set trunking mode to dynamically negotiate access or trunk mode
trunk Set trunking mode to TRUNK unconditionally
SW2(config-if)#switchport mode trunk
SW2(config-if)#switchport nonegotiate
When you’re working with Cisco switches in a home lab or rack rental environment, run IOS Help regularly to see what options are available for the commands you’re practicing with. Cisco switch ports have quite a few options, and the best way to find them is with one simple symbol - the question mark!

Alaska is known as one of the most bountiful areas with salmon, and is ideal for fishing trips.
This is because of extreme tides along the West Coast and the gush of ocean currents that create an environment ideal for the breeding of thousands of baitfish.
It is also known as one of the best places to go if one wants to fish for giant King Salmon, the largest specie of salmon fish.
The best way to catch these giant salmon (in saltwater) is through trolling or by angling a baited line drawn into the water.
Fishing for giant King Salmon can be a year round activity (especially in Seward).
The most sought-after species of salmon are the following:
1. The King Salmon (Chinook) are the largest of all these species. Its weight averages between 20-40 pounds, the heaviest recorded of which is 112 pounds, and can be as long as 3-4″. It has a blue-green back that is lightly spotted.
The average life span of a Chinook Salmon is about five to seven years.
Its flesh can range in color from ivory white to a deep red.
Common names for this specie of salmon include tyee, springs, mouth/kings quinnat and tule.
2. Silver Salmon (Coho) on the other hand is slightly smaller with an average weight of 8-12 pounds.
These specie prefer small streams in which to spawn between the months of July to November.
3. Sockeye salmon, on the other hand, are the most sought-after of its entire species because its flesh has a color of deep red and it has a firm rich flavor.
In fishing for salmon in Alaska, one has to be well equipped with the right equipment (and donned with the appropriate apparel).
Listed below are some of the needed equipment/materials and tips for hassle-free fishing:
1. You must be clad in layers of warm clothes (not necessarily bulky ones as it can hinder in the fishing activity).
2. Over these everyday clothes, a waterproof overall, boots and bibs are likewise necessary to ensure that one would stay dry since after a hook-up, some fish may resist with maximum struggles.
3. Fleet or cruisers that offer services for fishing are usually stocked with bait.
4. A guide on board a cruiser ensures that even amateur fishermen will enjoy the activity by providing crash-lessons onboard. They usually hook the bait for the guest and inform the party as to where specific species of fish may thrive for selective fishing.
Travis Clemens is a life time fisherman and he knows the ins and outs of gettinem on the hook! You too can gettem on the hook wiht Travis as your guide! www.push-button-online-income.com/fishing/blog.html
We all want to be a millionaire and Cyril May has created a song that is called “Mendicino Madness Millionaire “. The song tells the story of a California man who inherited a farm and planted marijuana:
“I could hardly wait ’til I opened the gate
turned the cows loose on their own
And I planted marijuana
in that rich red virgin loam”
In the days when there seems to be a huge controversy over the legalization of “pot”, we can take a humorous look at the fact that millions of Americans are “still smokin”, and why its so tempting to grow marijuana. The song goes on to tell how the guy tries it out to make sure its good and then proceeds to rake in the cash. He tells of his fancy car “with gold marijuana leaves on the doors” and luxury homes. Wallowing in the windfall of tax-free money, he discovers:
“Growin’ grass for people sure beats growing grass for cows.”
It’s a sassy, tongue-in-cheek commentary on today, rife with good humor and sarcasm, yet so benign parents buy the CD for their kids.
Cyril May is an Australian living in Long Beach, California with his American wife Dottie, while Jack McDonald is Mexican born living in Australia with his Australian wife Cheryl. The juxtaposition of the duo makes an interesting contribution to the music. Both are talented musicians, and each lends his special flavor to the music. On Mendicino Madness Millionaire, “Fabulous” Jack McDonald plays lead and rhythm guitar; Cyril performs on keyboard and handles the vocals.

When you send a message, you intend to communicate meaning, but the message itself doesn’t contain meaning. The meaning exists in your mind and in the mind of your receiver. To understand one another, you and your receiver must share similar meanings for words, gestures, tone of voice, and other symbols.
1. Differences in perception
The world constantly bombards us with information: sights, sounds, scents, and so on. Our minds organize this stream of sensation into a mental map that represents our perception or reality. In no case is the perception of a certain person the same as the world itself, and no two maps are identical. As you view the world, your mind absorbs your experiences in a unique and personal way. Because your perceptions are unique, the ideas you want to express differ from other people’s Even when two people have experienced the same event, their mental images of that event will not be identical. As senders, we choose the details that seem important and focus our attention on the most relevant and general, a process known as selective perception. As receivers, we try to fit new details into our existing pattern. If a detail doesn’t quite fit, we are inclined to distort the information rather than rearrange the pattern.
2. Incorrect filtering
Filtering is screening out before a message is passed on to someone else. In business, the filters between you and your receiver are many; secretaries, assistants, receptionists, answering machines, etc. Those same gatekeepers may also ‘translate’ your receiver’s ideas and responses before passing them on to you. To overcome filtering barriers, try to establish more than one communication channel, eliminate as many intermediaries as possible, and decrease distortion by condensing message information to the bare essentials.
3. Language problems
When you choose the words for your message, you signal that you are a member of a particular culture or subculture and that you know the code. The nature of your code imposes its own barriers on your message. Barriers also exist because words can be interpreted in more than one way. Language is an arbitrary code that depends on shared definitions, but there’s a limit to how completely any of us share the same meaning for a given word. To overcome language barriers, use the most specific and accurate words possible. Always try to use words your audience will understand. Increase the accuracy of your messages by using language that describes rather than evaluates and by presenting observable facts, events, and circumstances.
4. Poor listening
Perhaps the most common barrier to reception is simply a lack of attention on the receiver’s part. We all let our minds wander now and then, regardless of how hard we try to concentrate. People are essentially likely to drift off when they are forced to listen to information that is difficult to understand or that has little direct bearing on their own lives. Too few of us simply do not listen well! To overcome barriers, paraphrase what you have understood, try to view the situation through the eyes of other speakers and resist jumping to conclusions. Clarify meaning by asking non-threatening questions, and listen without interrupting.
5. Differing emotional states
Every message contains both a content meaning, which deals with the subject of the message, and a relationship meaning, which suggests the nature of the interaction between sender and receiver. Communication can break down when the receiver reacts negatively to either of these meanings. You may have to deal with people when they are upset or when you are. An upset person tends to ignore or distort what the other person is saying and is often unable to present feelings and ideas effectively. This is not to say that you should avoid all communication when you are emotionally involved, but you should be alert to the greater potential for misunderstanding that accompanies aroused emotions. To overcome emotional barriers, be aware of the feelings that arise in your self and in others as you communicate, and attempt to control them. Most important, be alert to the greater potential for misunderstanding that accompanies emotional messages.
6. Differing backgrounds
Differences in background can be one of the hardest communication barriers to overcome. Age, education, gender, social status, economic position, cultural background, temperament, health, beauty, popularity, religion, political belief, even a passing mood can all separate one person from another and make understanding difficult. To overcome the barriers associated with differing backgrounds, avoid projecting your own background or culture onto others. Clarify your own and understand the background of others, spheres of knowledge, personalities and perceptions and don’t assume that certain behaviors mean the same thing to everyone.

Most people think the job search process begins when they need a job. No!
Your job search starts now, regardless of where you are in your career, regardless of how happy you think you are at your current job.
But that doesn’t mean you have to cheat your employer out of your time, or short-change your clients and customers (I certainly don’t recommend either one).
What you need to do is use your current job to prepare you for the next one. That next job could be within your current company, or elsewhere.
Regardless of where it is, if you don’t prepare for it now, you’ll find yourself unprepared for the opportunity when it comes along.
The best approach I’ve ever seen (and ever used) is to figure out the next career step you’d like to take, determine the requirements of that step, then start looking for opportunities in your current position to gain related skills and experience that will let you make the jump.
Acquiring those skills builds your resume. More skills, and especially more achievements are almost always good. You can choose to leave some off, if they don’t relate to a specific
target job you choose in the future. It’s simply wrong (and stupid, actually) to put stuff on your resume that you haven’t done. Look for ways to fill your resume with high-quality achievements that give you (and a future employer) lots of material to work with.
Those new skills will help you in your current job, of course, which is a win-win situation for you and your employer.
All of that may be easier to say than it is to do. That’s why it’s important to get help as your try to figure out your direction and what steps to take to start moving that way.
Borrow a principle from sports. You need a coach.
I know, I know. You think career coaching is a ridiculously expensive waste of time. Not necessarily.
I’m not suggesting that you flush money down the toilet. But a relatively small investment can save you years of frustration, and keep you from wasting time on a “career” you really don’t want.
So find a coach, and get moving!

The newest addition to many a home owners garage is little giant ladder system. With many tool manufacturers striving to develop better systems to assist their users, it appears Wing Enterprises did just that with the Little Giant Ladder. A telescoping multiladder, this system allows for mobility and functionality that would normally require numerous ladders and hands to do.
Specifically, the Little Giant Ladder is 24 ladders in one. The Little Giant has the ability to be used like a typical A-frame ladder, extension ladders, for scaffolding and as a stepladder. Made of heavy-wall, 6005-T5 aluminum, which is also used in the aerospace industry, it is both remarkably strong and lightweight. Designed to be one of the safest ladder to use, the little giant can adjust to fit securely in its environment such as on stairs, curbs or other uneven surfaces.
The Little Giant Ladder employs patented hinge technology so it can be easily used as a traditional A-frame model. Additionally it also works well with 90∞ angles, which is typically a problem with A-frame ladders.
The Little Giant Ladder ranges in price, starting from about $325. OSHA compliant, made in the USA and sporting a life-time warranty, the Little Giant Ladder system is well worth the cost.

Did you know, that television — the persistent purveyor of pop
culture here in America — shapes a LOT of your prospects
behavior patterns?
Here, listen to this:
1. The average US home has the TV on for 7 hours and 40 munites
a day.
In case you’re wondering, that means by the time a child is 18
years old, they’ve already been exposed to 50,367.6 hours of
television!
Sheesh!
2. The average amount of television the average American
watches, is over 4 hours a day. (that’s 17% of your life,
by-the-way)
Likewise, this means the average American has actually watched
over 26,280 hours of TV by the time they’re already 18 years old.
3. 50% of all US households have 3 or more TV’s in their house.
4. (And this one was amazing) 45% of all parents say if they
have something important to do, they’ll use the TV to occupy
their children! (Whatever happened to books, or arts and crafts?)
5. 54% of children between ages 4 and 6 said they’d rather watch
TV than spend time with their fathers! (Gosh, I hope my daughter
wasn’t participating in that survey…)
6. 40% of all Americans watch TV while they’re eating dinner.
7. And lastly, on average, sadly… parents only spend 38.5
minutes a week having a meaningful conversation with their
children.
No doubt then, television is a HUGE part of American life. In
some cases, it’s even more important than having a relationship
with your children, for goodness sakes.
You’d have to assume from reading through these statistics, that
people are planning meal times around what’s on TV… they’re
spending a good amount of brain-power trying to make sure “this”
show gets taped or recorded at “that” particular time… and
they’re probably spending more energy watching David Letterman
than making love.
Which is very VERY tragic of course.
One thing TV doesn’t do, is… it doesn’t tax your attention
span.
You get entertained a little… and then you get some relief in
the form of commercials.
You hear a little bit about your topic… and then you go and
grab some ice cream.
Because of this, if your sales pitch isn’t giving your prospect
the same sense of “relief” — either in your story or in your
presentation — then your prospect is going to do the same thing
you do, when what you’re watching, no longer interests you:
They’re going to grab their remote and click to another channel,
which in this case means…
They’re going to toss your sales pitch straight into the garbage
can!
And above all else, you certainly DON’T want them to do this,
now do you?
So next week, to make sure this doesn’t happen to you, I’m going
to tell you “5 Ways To Give Your Prospect A Much-Needed Break In
Your Sales Copy!”
Now go sell something,

Finally the game that everyone has been talking about has hit the shelves. Fable for the XBox has gone through many name changes, but it had originally started out as Project Ego; which is fitting considering how vain the character is. Fable is a model game worthy of being a prototype for the games of the future. Granted the developers did not achieve all of the goals that they had set forth in the beginning, but they weren’t afraid to reach for the stars. One of the features that they were trying for in Fable, but could not accomplish, was direct competition between other heroes for both infamy and missions. This would have pushed the player into taking on and completing the missions faster than they otherwise would so that the other heroes would not get to them first. While this added competition would have been interesting the fact that they could not implement it does not in any way adversely affect the game. Fable is a fairly straightforward action game with plenty of extras to grab your attention and hold onto it.
You begin the game as a little boy in a town called Oakvale. Your father offers you some money for all of the good deeds that you do. Throughout the town there will be people in need of your help which will help you earn some of that money. It is also your sister’s birthday so you need to use that money to buy her a gift. Once you give your sister her present the story line begins. Your town is attacked and your father is killed. Bandits then seize your mother and your sister. You are left all alone in a town that is on fire. Then a man appears and offers to help you. He takes you to a place called the Heroes’ Guild where you will learn to become a hero.
At the Heroes’ Guild you will meet a young girl who is also in training. Her character was meant to be one of the heroes that you would have been in direct competition with had they been able to implement that aspect of the game. However there is still a bit of competition between the two of them, but it does not alter the story line. She will be your sparring partner. You will also be working with the Guild Master, he will train you in all of the combat techniques. Your character will begin aging at this time and continue aging as the story progresses.
Once you have finished all of the training you will be able to take on missions. These missions will increase your renown, experience, and your pocket book. You will have the choice to take missions for the good side or the bad side and depending on that choice your character will become good or evil. Your appearance will change depending on what type of person you choose to be. If you are good you will be covered in a white light and butterflies will fly around you. If you choose evil then your eyes will glow red and red smoke will appear around your character.
The story itself is leading you up to avenging your family’s death and capture. You will find out bits and pieces about what happened that night in Oakvale and why it happened.
Everyone has a certain style of fighting that they like to use in games. Some prefer magic and others like to cut enemies apart with edged weapons. In this game your preferred style of fighting will have an impact on the character’s appearance and abilities. If magic is your choice then the character will age much faster and physical combat will become difficult. If using weapons like a sword or a club is more your style then the character will beef up and probably end up with more scars. Whatever the choice your character will change accordingly. You will also gain experience points in the type of fighting style that you use when killing your enemies. These points will boost your ability in that fighting category allowing you to kill your enemies with more skill and ease.
You can buy titles that you want your character to go by. The title that you choose will determine what people call you; you can change the title at any time by just buying a new one. There are titles more appropriate for evil characters and titles for good characters. If your character is a good hero then the people in the villages will come up to you more often and women will want to marry you (men too). If your character is evil then people will run from you more often and it is harder to find a wife. Either way your name will be known all over the world.
The fighting in this game is really simple. You will be given a choice to use a weapon like a bow and arrow which takes more skill or use a sword which takes more brute force. The bow is mostly used when you do not want to be detected by your enemies or your enemies are too far away. The bow is the hardest weapon to use. Using the edged weapons or blunt objects are very easy to master, but that also depends on what size, shape, etc. the weapon is. You need to get a weapon that is fitting to your character’s strength and skill. The magic is also very easy to master and is the best part of the fighting once you have upgraded the power levels.
Missions are not the only thing that this game has to offer. There are hidden objects all over the place. Be sure to buy a spade and a fishing pole because these will be helpful in uncovering important hidden items. There is also a status screen that will keep track of all of the things that your character has done (including how many times he has had sex). You can marry multiple people, become a widow, get a divorce, buy property, and the list just continues.
The graphics are outstanding, the details to the scenery were meticulously thought out and employed to perfection. The world of Albion is huge and each part of the world is unique so that one place looks completely different from another. The characters are also very unique with a great variety of them to encounter. Even with all of this detail the game very rarely encounters any slowdown. The sound for the game is nothing to balk at; the acting is well done and the soundtrack sets the perfect tone. Nearly everything about this game was perfectly orchestrated.
This game has some great replay value. You can continue working on your stats by marrying more and more people or you can buy up all of the properties. There is no limit to how long you can play this game; although it does become a bit monotonous.
There should be nothing stopping you from running out and renting this game right now; I guarantee that you will enjoy it. To watch the story line unfold is nail biting suspense; you can’t wait to find out what happens next.
